JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - For the second time in a week, stray dogs have killed zoo animals in Mississippi's capital city.
Jackson Zoo marketing director Chris Mims says five flamingos were killed and two were injured late Tuesday.
Security guards making the rounds about 11 p.m. heard the dogs, which ran away.
The killings came a week after dogs killed two young gazelles.
Officials say the zoo has been in contact with Animal Control about the dog problem in the area.
